Why do giant pandas have no enemies in the wild? One of the main reasons is their appearance. Last week we looked at their eyes, today we will take a look at their fur's color.
The head and body of a giant panda have a very distinctive black-and-white color (melanoleuca), but the colors are not pure. The black fur has a hint of brown, and the white has a touch of yellow. The giant pandas are protected by their pattern. The fur color is very beneficial for pandas to camouflage amongst the snow or hide in jungle trees, so they are not easily spotted by predators or people. In the forest, the color makes it seem like a tree or a stone. In the snow, the color makes it seem like a big snowball. Due to the characteristics introduced last week and this crucial trait— color, the giant pandas have no enemies in the wild.
